A nourishing yoga class to help your Smart Body feel supported, spacious & strong. This thoughtfully paced practice focuses hamstrings, quadriceps, core, low & upper back, weaving in gentle shoulder openers to invite ease through the neck. Expect mindful movement to move the spine smoothly & freely, building stability without tension. Poses are chosen to create balance: strength with softness, effort with relaxation. Come join me Wednesday mornings as we awaken the body with joy and laughter. Using our breath and movement is an excellent way to transition from sleep to wakefulness. In this class we move through a gentle yoga flow, utilizing the entire body. Invite flexibility and fluidity. Ending with a short meditation. This class is for you if you have mobility issues! Whether you are dealing with decreased mobility or conditions that restrict your movements, adding a chair to your practice lets you experience the benefits of yoga while still being kind and gentle to your body. In this class we will move slowly while moving our body in all four directions building strength and gaining flexibility and relaxation into your day. Chair yoga also integrates deep breathing, meditation, and relaxation techniques to promote a sense of calmness and stress reduction. Twisting poses, while seated, helps to aid digestion, lower back pain, and circulation. Chair yoga can help with joint lubrication, flexibility, strength, stability and balance.
